War of the Worlds is a light and shadow mural projected by three alien tripods from the HG Wells novel War of the Worlds. The light mural features 80s pop culture references, including the video games Space Invaders and a xenomorph from the movie Aliens. What makes War of the Worlds unique is how it uses an improved light animation system, initially developed for Tesselate, a SEEK Raleigh 2023 project. The xenomorph’s mouth would have an animated second mouth coming out, and the Space Invaders would move toward it. War of the Worlds merges classic sci-fi themes with nostalgic pop culture elements, creating a captivating visual experience that will resonate with audiences of all ages.
