“Star Talk” is a 3D-printed sculpture that turns the Sun’s movement across the sky into a captivating art display. Like a sundial, the sculpture casts shadows on the ground that spell out text, visible in the late morning and early afternoon. Using an Excel document to track the Sun’s path, I wrote a computer program to generate precise 3D models. When I placed the printed sculpture in sunlight, the text appeared in its shadows, merging art and science in a striking display of classical Newtonian physics and innovative 3D printing.
